Emojis are all over the 📰! A global translation firm in London 💂is seeking an "Emoji Translator" (yes, a paying job!), and in 2015 the Oxford Dictionary made 😂 ("Face with Tears of Joy") the word of the year 🎉.
Do your students ever wonder 💭why there isn't a Pikachu emoji? It turns out that it's a long, complicated process to get new emojis included (and Pikachu is unlikely to make the cut!)
